"My Name is Gerard "G-Roc" Smith and I'm 25 years old. I'm an ATL native and I've been into sneakers all my life."
1. What does your name G-Roc mean, who gave you this name, and how did it come about?
My homies started calling me G-Roc in 1997. It was a rapper from around the way named T-Rock, so they just started calling me G-Roc. They've been calling me G-Roc ever since, and that's where my eBay user name came from "shadygroc". I grew up in a hood called Shady Park, but I'm not shady...well I'm not anymore...lol
2.How did Theshoegame. com come about?
I used to sell TONS of kicks on eBay, and my brother-in-law said "You need your own site". The site was suppose to be called shadygroc. com, but someone already had it since my user name was so popular. I use to sell with all the OG sneaker eBay sellers. Most of them have retired...lol
3.Where do you see your site and yourself in 5 years?
The site will be the popular site on the web, and some stuff I can't talk about right now. As for me, I'll be married, kids, and still serving in the Ministry at WorldChargers.org (Shout out to Pastor Creflo and Taffi Dollar). I currently serve in the Teen Ministry at my church, so in 5 years there's no telling what God will have me doing.
4. When did you start collecting.. do you think you will ever stop?
I never looked at it as collecting, I just always bought what I liked. After time you end up with a bunch of sneakers. I'll be buying sneakers until it's time to go!
5. Do people recognize you on the streets? How does it feel when people acknowledge you?
Yeah, it's cool and they always have positive things to say like "I love the site, keep up the good work". I just want to be humble as possible. I work HARD and it's great when people can tell.
6.How did working with Greg-street come about?
Long story short, let's just say God is GOOD. Once I decided to change my life, and once I got saved (made Jesus Lord of my life) EVERYTHING fell into place.

" event G-roc was in the house also*
7. Which is your favorite sneaker brand and which sneaker is it? and why?
Nike of course. I'm in love with the Bo Jackson Trainer SC High. Thanks Tinker! It's just so clean on my foot and I love the colorways (OG and 97-2001). Aint' nobody messing with me in the Bo game. I'm also a big fan of vintage Nike's.
8. If you could design a pair of air force 1's, what kind of materials would you use and which colors?
I wouldn't design a pair of AF1's. I don't really like AF1's, and I know that's hard to swallow, but it's true. I have a few pairs but I hardly ever wear them. However, I would love to design some Bo's.
9. Oh, there is something you wouldn't hear from a sneaker conversation. So, if you could design a pair of Bo's which colors, and which materials would you use?
I would go with a colorway that reminds all the OG heads of Nike's vintage sneakers. Something loud, but dope. I would use premium leather and suede. I would keep it OG! Nike needs to let me design a pair on the real.
10. Now, we all know TSG is the site to go to for all the sneaker information, but how do you get your info?
Sometimes on the net from other sources, and sometimes I have to grind myself. Other times my lovely TSG readers that I love soooooo much e-mail me stuff. I also have ekin buddies and other dope connects.
(Last words)
